My name is Laurean Sahilices, I'm a certified Digital Marketing professional and a Hotel Marketing Consultant.
After more than a decade of experience working in the hotel marketing industry with some of the largest global hotel groups like IHG and Accor,
I´ve specialized in developing omnichannel marketing strategies - a combination of online and offline channels- to achieve the hotels’ Sales & Marketing goals.
To do so, I work closely with DOSMs and Head of Marketing supporting with strategic planning and training different members of the marketing team with industry specific knowledge.
I was lucky enough to have the opportunity of doing my second internship on another beach resort, this time in Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. This experience was amazing as I had exposure to different departments like guest services, front office, and finally marketing and communications! I’ve learned so much from this experience and I had a grasp of what was a hotel brand refreshment, how to deal with media, and I even remember when I had to open the hotel’s Facebook account in 2010 - when Facebook for business was at early stages.

My mission is to create the largest hotel marketing community and to be known teaching actionable strategies to be easily implemented across different hotels.
ONCE UPON A TIME

Early in my career, I have spent 4 years in Argentina working in the travel industry building a Marketing department from the scratches for a travel agency - from branding, to website development and everything in between.
In 2014, my husband and I decided to leave our comfort zone and we emigrate to New Zealand seeking for career growth and a new life experience.
One of my first jobs in New Zealand was as an Insights Specialist, in a Google Partner digital marketing agency, where I had the opportunity to forge my digital knowledge in website analytics, optimisation, reporting and Google Products.
In 2016, I returned to the hotel industry and joined one of the global leading hotel chains, IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group), where I was the Digital Marketing Manager of a cluster of 6 hotels across NZ - including luxury brands, midscale, and family hotels. I worked on very exciting projects like rebrandings, new website launches, social media strategy creations, and the technical part too. And my team was eve awarded the best Marketing team of the year in the Asia Pacific Region twice!
After almost 3 years in IHG NZ, I got the opportunity of a transfer to open a new resort in the Maldives for a 6-months pre-opening project - one of the most 'outside of the comfort-zone' experiences ever.

Laurean was asked to manage our countries 4 websites. What followed was a graphical improvement, strong inbound marketing work to lift our sites on search results.

DREAMS DO BECOME TRUE
Once I finished a 6-month pre-opening project, and with only 30 years old and a decade of experience across different countries, I got a new job offer to lead the Marketing cluster team of the recently opened Pullman Maldives and Mercure Maldives, 2 of the 5 resorts from Accor - one of the leading hotel chains worldwide and with a strong presence in the Maldives.
During the 2.8 years in that role, I´ve mainly focused on developing omnichannel hotel digital marketing strategies, including content creation, re-branding, PR and everything related to digital communications. I have also worked in the launch and position of Pullman Maldives as a leading generous all inclusive only resort and re-positioned Mercure Maldives as the first adults only ultra all inclusive resort worldwide.
Not to mention, the numerous marketing trainings and workshops to upskill my team and other colleagues during the pandemic.

The first time I created a hotel Facebook page was in 2009 - I had no clue what I was doing!
After 6 years living in New Zealand, I came to know I'm allergic to Kiwi fruit... Seriously!
I've lived 12 months uninterrupted in the Maldives and I could live barefoot or underwater
Working in the hospitality industry myself for more than 10 years, I know how overwhelming it can feel. So I created this community to learn and grow together.
