Hi, I’m Laurean. Over the past 15 years, I’ve led multiple marketing teams for some of the world’s top hotel brands across New Zealand and the Maldives.

But my journey hasn’t always been glamorous.

I know what it feels like to doubt yourself, to burn out, and to question if you even belong in this industry.

That’s why I created The Hotel Marketing Lady, to help hotel marketers like you find clarity, confidence, and balance so you can shine as the leader you’re meant to be.

Global experience

From internships in Mexico & Canary Islands, rebranding in New Zealand to luxury positioning and pre-opening in the Maldives, my career has been built on hands-on experience, strategy, resilience and a deep love for this industry.

i wasn't always confident

When I started out, my mornings began with fear.

A flooded inbox.
Fires to put out.
Endless requests that left me feeling reactive instead of creative.
I doubted myself constantly.

As an expat, I worried about my accent, my English, my confidence.
I faced toxic environments with bosses who led with fear, and I was even let go from a global brand for asking too many questions.

At the time, I thought it meant I wasn’t good enough.

But over the years, living and working in between Argentina, New Zealand, and the Maldives, I realised something powerful:

  • You don’t have to dim your light to belong.
  • You don’t have to lead with fear.
  • You can (and you must) lead with empathy, courage, and confidence.

My story

My mission

I started The Hotel Marketing Lady and The Lounge because anyone can learn technical skills. But without clarity, mindset, and balance, those skills won’t take you far.

My mission is to help the next generation of hotel marketers to:


  • Move from reactive → proactive
  • From overwhelmed → in control
  • From impostor syndrome → confident identity
  • From burnout → balance

And to do this inside a supportive global community, where you never have to feel alone.

I was the youngest Cluster Director of Marketing at a global brand in the Maldives at 30 years old.

Led multi-country marketing strategies across global hotel groups.

I've worked on multiple rebranding, pre-openings, and positioning projects for luxury resorts
and hotels.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Marketing & I'm obsessed with the hospitality industry.

Because I’ve been in your shoes.

I know what it feels like to wake up stressed, open a flooded inbox, and spend the day reacting instead of leading.

I know the self-doubt, the impostor syndrome, the toxic workplaces.

But I also know the way forward.
